The US Postal Service has let me down in 3 different ways in only 2 days. Let us count the ways:
- A check that was mailed over 2.5 months ago just arrived at its destination this week (after the check was already canceled).
- A package that I ordered was damaged during shipping.
- Our profile/home study that were priority mailed to an adoption agency 3 weeks ago have yet to arrive. (This meant we had to overnight the same information and pay a lot more money.)
OK, onto more optimistic things. We will be presenting our profile to a birth mom tomorrow afternoon! She is living in Florida and is going to have a baby boy on May 20th. This is one of the situations I mentioned in my blog post dated 12/23/11. I had the wonderful opportunity of talking with the agency this afternoon. They are amazing! Edna (works at the agency) was very helpful and kind. I wanted to reach out over the phone and hug her. It felt as though she cared and understood, and I wasn't "just another profile." She estimated that we should know the mom's decision early next week. She also said that we would be notified either way. Yay for smaller agencies that realize waiting for forever is miserable.
