Day 3 Synopsis: The story of Noah is one that amazes me every time I read it. God saw that our world was over-run with sin and its distressing effects. (This was a direct result of believing the lie of Satan and eating the forbidden fruit.) God hates sin, it had wreaked havoc on His beautiful love story with humans. He decided to wipe everything out with a flood. However, Noah was faithful to God and loved Him. God hates sin but loves His people. God chose to keep Noah and his family safe in a big boat (the ark) and use them to populate the earth again. This story is the start of God working to clean up our horrible mess of sin and death. However, He also chose to make us a promise. He will never destroy the world with a flood again. The rainbow after a storm is a reminder of that promise He made us. After the flood, God chose to use another method to fix the devastation that sin had brought on this world. He was preparing to offer us an amazing gift that could wash us pure as snow by sending Christ to be born and die for us. Even the story of Noah points to our need for a Savior and the story of Christmas when that Savior would be born.
