Day 25 Synopsis: The big day is finally here! Jesus is born and it is the first Christmas. We learn that Jesus is born in a stable because Bethlehem is full as a result of the census. There isn't a better place for Mary and Joseph to stay. They wrap Him up and place Him in a manger (a feeding trough for animals.) Our Savior is here and the great rescue plan is under way.
After He is born, angels appear to shepherds that are watching their sheep in nearby fields. They go and worship baby Jesus. We celebrate Christmas and Jesus' birth very differently from the shepherds that day. Today we often get caught up in the gifts, cookies, Santa, Christmas trees and numerous other things that have nothing to do with the real meaning of Christmas. In and of themselves these things are not bad at all. However, we need to keep the proper perspective. Jesus is born! Our God has come down to earth so that He can save us from our sins and the devastation it has brought to our earth. God has come as a baby and this baby is going to save the world! This baby is our Great Rescuer!
