Day 16 Synopsis: Time goes by and Judah and Israel have more Kings. God's people wander away from Him and forget all that He has done for them. Through all of this God sends messengers to His people to tell them important things about Himself and things that are to come. These people are called Prophets. Today we read from the Prophet Isaiah. God gave Isaiah some very special messages for the people about God's plan for saving them and the entire world. God was going to send a Savior a Messiah. And He was going to tell His people what to look for so they wouldn't miss their Savior when He came. He was telling us about Jesus and His birth and life.
What is amazing is that there are numerous prophecies about the coming Messiah. We are going to discuss five of those prophecies. What is wonderful is that Jesus fulfilled every single prophecy the Old Testament gave about what our Savior was to be. This is one of the many ways we know that Jesus is God and is our Savior.
Our first prophecy is that Jesus would be a Prince of Peace. He is going to have a never ending kingdom, and He will rule with peace and fairness. He is a mighty and wonderful King that will come to reign. A dove symbolizes peace and that is the reason for choosing it as our ornament for today.
