At about 9:00 am this morning we dialed into the court hearing and were sworn in by a local court reporter/notary. The proceedings were actually in Florida, Levi's state of birth. As much as we love Florida, we did not make the long trip for this court date and instead attended over the phone. Our Lawyer asked us various questions with regards to Levi's adoption and then the Judge finalized our adoption. It was WONDERFUL! The Judge was extremely pleasant and funny. In his line of work, the bulk of his day is related to divorce and child custody battles. Adoptions are the best part of his day and it was evident in how he handled our finalization. We ended the phone conversation laughing and smiling.
Now we wait to receive Levi's new birth certificate in the mail. I cannot wait to see the name Levi Harold on that piece of paper and to see that he was born to Jarred and Shannon.
On a side note, our little man is now 4 months old. It doesn't seem possible. He has recovered completely from his ICU stay. You would never know to look at him that he was ever sick or on a ventilator. God is so very good, and He protected our Levi that scary day. We saw our Pediatrician for a follow up visit after his hospitalization and she says that his lungs sound better than they ever have. We are going to work on rescheduling his hand surgery, and I will let you know when that will be. To be honest, I am terrified to try the surgery again. I have been praying for peace... John 14:27.
Below are a few of our latest pictures. Enjoy!
